I would suggest challenging the Kanto Gyms, as no one is quite certain where the Elite Four are. Besides, eight full teams at level 100 should keep you occupied for some time.

If you request to fight them. They have weaker teams closer to Johto's levels, but those are less interesting.

You could always impose yourself some limits, though I doubt there are any that would match the stronger teams' difficulty.

As long as they have the right types, of course. From what I can tell and what I was told, there is no overlap between Johto and Kanto.

That's right. I've talked to another person who was familiar with Kanto, and at least half of the Gyms match the ones you know.
