[This video post is brought to you by a very bored Tensai Jr. Why is this Ivysaur bored, you might ask?

Because his trainer is sleeping.

Out on the tennis court.

Next to a big, pink slowpoke, who is just staring ~~right into your soul~~ somewhere off-screen.

Yep. right by the net, a certain Marui Bunta is using Jackal's Sobesa as a pillow. There's a tennis racket next to them, and a few balls lying around. The towel and empty water bottle in Marui's hand indicates he was practicing some time ago and is now catching some z's in the sun, leaving his Ivysaur free to do whatever he wants with his stuff. Which is probably why he's filming this for the whole of Johto to see.]

Veeeeeeeee.

[Tensai Jr. moves closer to his trainer and Sobesa, picking the racket up with one of his vines, probably wanting to test out this tennis thing since Marui seems to be so into that kind of thing. He swings the racket back and forth and this is all you get for a couple more minutes.

But then something happens! Sobesa moves her head, as if following something. Something invisible maybe? Perhaps, but there is a sudden wailing noise loud enough to wake Marui up with a start. And then there's that wailing noise again, it sounds something like this:]

MUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNCH

[Yep, that's a Munchlax distress wail. Tensai Jr. moves the gear toward the direction of the sound, and there is, in the distance, a Puchi in a pear tree. And a classy Espeon at the base of the tree, watching the Munchlax hanging onto a branch with satisfaction. He's been eating all the apples in the House, she had to do something about it, right?]

What the hell--?!

[And now you see Marui running toward that tree. This is where Tensai Jr. decides to stop the video, but anyone at the Tennis House can witness Marui climbing up that tree to get his poor starter down, and yelling at Lady to get them both down because guess who's keeping the two of them up there?]

Mm... if I get stuck in a tree, you're totally free to come to my rescue. How's that?

Haha! Alright, it's a deal!

[ she flashes him a wink, just as she releases her helper-- who turns out to be a rather cheery Steelix. ]

Hey, Crystal, we're gonna play ladder for a sec-- can you put your head up by those two?

[ the Steelix obliges, tail waving happily, and Rise takes a step back, calling back up to Marui. ]

Climb on! She's steadier than she looks!

[excuse him for a moment while stares in awe at the Steelix. It's like an Onyx, but so much better oh my god--]

Huh? Oh! Alright.

[he turns to Puchi, who's still clinging onto him]

Come on, little guy. She won't bite! She's here to help us get down. [he's helping Puchi get down first before he does so himself.]

She still thinks she's a puppy, so unless she tries to roll over, she's pretty much harmless. [ and Rise proves this by giving her a fond pat on one of those shiny boulders. Crystal remains still (sans the still ecstatically-thudding tail) until she's got her passengers, and then she's very slowly and deliberately lowering her head to carry them down. ]

Haha, that's cute! You should meet Jackal's Onyx. He thinks he's an ostrich.

[Puchi yelps when Crystal starts to move and scrambles over to cling on Marui's leg. Marui just pats his head, trying to keep the Munchlax calm.]

Puchi, come on, it's not that scary. I won't let you fall, I promise!

An ostrich? [ Rise has no idea how that even affects Onix behavior, but it just sounds... very, very ODD. She'll keep the thought to herself though, coaxing the Steelix to keep it slow until her head's fully settled on the ground and she can grin at the riders. ]

Welcome back.

[Marui hops down to the ground first and helps Puchi off Crystal-- he's gotten so much heavier the past few weeks and he can't even carry him around anymore!]

Thanks, Rise! [he smiles, even though he's hella embarrassed that a girl had to come rescue him... but at least it was Rise!] Don't know what I'd do without you! [have a wink.]

You'd have the tree to keep you company.

[ ... she says blithely, though she adds-- ] Are you two okay?

There's that. [headscratch]

I'm fine. Puchi might need therapy. I mean, look at him! [poor Puchi is still clinging on Marui's leg even though they're on the ground. and he's very wary about the surroundings-- Lady might pounce again.]

Awwww, poor thing... [ she clicks her tongue sympathetically, crouching down in front of the Munchlax. ] Hey, it's okay now! You're safe.

[Marui crouches down too, and coaxes Puchi to stop clinging on him]

Aww, hey, it's just Rise. She rescued us, she won't chase you back up that tree.

[...which prompts Puchi to cling onto Rise.]

... Um, hi.

[ I doubt I'll be able to stand up now... ]

Laaaax

[Puchi just. holds on. but he's smiling, so maybe that means "thank you!"]

...Should I grab a crowbar? I haven't seen him get clingy before...

It's okay. [ resting a hand on Puchi's head. ] Do you want me to stay?

[Puchi just nods and nuzzles her hand.]

Well. At least he's distracted enough, now. Still wish I knew what happened, though.

You just found him up there? This guy doesn't look like he'd be much of a climber.

Right? I don't even know why he thought climbing up there was a good idea... [he pokes at Puchi's cheeks who seems to be used to it.]

Something must've happened between him an' Lady, though. Unless she's just really pissy.

Yagyuu-kun would know that better than I would, but she didn't seem that way before.

Yeah... I thought Eeveelutions were better than that. [frowns; he's really concerned about this.] But Puchi might have done something too, as much as I hate to admit it.

Hey, Puchi... [ might as well ask the source. ] Did you and Lady have a fight?

Come on, little guy. I won't tell Anko, I promise!

[Puchi looks unsure for a moment. He's looking around if there are other pokemon nearby. When he's satisfied, he looks up at both redheads with a biiig pout and nods.]

Muuuuuu!

[...and he reaches under his furry skirt-thing and reveals

a half-eaten apple.]

... An apple?

[and marui just facepalms because he's just realized what this is all about.]

Puchi....

[cue Munchlax hiding behind Rise... and eats the apple.]

[ why am I the shield now-- cue an inquisitive glance at Marui. ]
