[Anyone paying attention to the network would have been witness to the sudden turning on of Marui's device just before it crashes down, skids across the floor and somehow settles at a nice angle where you can all see the inside of a barn-- the barn in Goldenrod. If anyone is familiar enough with the area, you would know that it is part of the Tennis House, and where Rikkai keeps most of their Pokémon, when they're not in their balls. Heh, balls.

Anyway, getting to the point: a certain Girafarig's darker half is biting at Marui, looking angry or distraught or a mixture of both. The front half doesn't seem to mind what his backside is doing, probably even approving of the biting. The Rapidash nearby don't seem to be paying much attention to the scene, but the Machamp seems concerned at least.]

Owww, quit it, Ace! Let me do my job and-- not the ear! Let me just-- Don't make me put you back in your PokéBall! [Oh, that seemed to work...? It stopped biting Marui, at least, and Ace is letting the redhead pet him now.] You're not the only one upset that Akaya's gone, you know.

[And it is at this point that something big, blue and furry sits(or rolls over) in front of the camera, snores, and makes the feed cut off. But if you're ever in the area, Marui will just be in the barn, making sure all the Rikkai Pokémon are well-fed and warm and totally not sulking, who does that? Sheesh.]

[So, at one point, Marui gives up trying to feed the Girafarig so he could move on and pamper the Rapidash a bit (because Umeboshi is a vain Pokemon, yes he is), but Ace keeps following him, walking backwards and snapping his teeth in Marui's direction.

Only when Marui gets to the Rapidash stalls does he realize Niou has been standing there all along. So have a glare, Niou.]

What are you doing, just sta-- YEOWCH, Ace! [Ace finally discovers Marui's shoulder.]

[He just gives a shrug, because it's not his fault Marui is failing at calming the Pokemon down. In fact, he even forces a smirk, because you know what Marui was actually right that they shouldn't really be moping about this. Even if he never said it, the thought rings in his head.

Though that may be something to do with not letting him see how this does actually get to him really, even if he can probably guess they're all bothered by it.]

M'not gonna take your place as a chew toy.

[In other words, you're on your own.]

Jerk!

[well. It was the only thing Marui could say while trying to fend off Ace. Enjoy your free show, Niou :| ]

[He will, he wasn't left with a snappy Girafirig after all, so he might as well get some sort of entertainment when everyone's so down about Akaya leaving.

And he needs to think, so watching Marui trying to not be bitten to death helps as a nice distraction for him to do that unnoticed.]

I love you too~ [He sings it out at him, obviously kind of mocking, as he leans to get comfortable. With the looks of things this'll go on for a while anyway.]

[So, the apple he was going to shove at Ace's biting mouth? He throws it straight at you, Niou. Jerk.

But then Marui runs out of things he could distract Ace with, so when the next bite comes, he blocks it with his arm and the Girafarig bites down on it and doesn't let go, opting instead to chew on Marui's arm. Or at least that's what you'd expect, but Cougar the Machamp steps in the way and it's his arm that gets bit (and he takes damage from the move, and his defense is lowered a bit).]

C-Cougar! [The Machamp gives Marui a thumbs up with one hand, and with a third, he starts patting the front half's head to calm it down.] ...Thanks, I guess.

[Then he shoots Niou a glare.] Look, the Pokemon are being more useful than you are. What are you doing there, anyway?

[It's not like he can't just catch it, Marui. Even if the stem stings a bit as it smarts his palm.

He rolls his eyes and leans onto his other foot when the attention on him is diverted. Then, after waiting a moment to check Marui isn't going to turn to look at him again, he glances back at the ponies all in the corner behind him, and well. It's where Akaya's old one is as well now anyway.]

Watching you be less useful than the Pokemon as well? [It's offered with a faint smile because really, Marui, you're not doing much better.

It's obviously not the reason he's there though. Not really.]

Tch! At least I tried, unlike you.

[Marui uses a potion on the Machamp for the bite, and moves over to the front half of the Girafarig, who is much calmer than the back half. Jackal was better at Pokemon grooming than he was, obviously, but someone's got to do it. Especially with the amount of Pokemon collecting in the Barn now...]

I wasn't going to though.

[Niou will just do it when Marui isn't looking, okay. There is no need for him to know that he can help if he wants to - he just finds it slightly entertaining to watch him struggle along.

[Whether he means people or Pokemon is another thing, mind you.]

[will just ignore that first remark, yep. some things never change, after all, even if you throw them into a video game world.]

What others? We're like, the only ones left.

[meaning, rikkai and their pokemon, of course.]

[No, no they won't. Marui will have to learn one day that he's only nice to a very small amount of people. Basically Yagyuu and Yukimura- Anyway.

He shrugs at that.]

If anyone else had been left with his Pokemon.

[He meant the Pokemon anyway. He already knows that Yagyuu is going to be. Well. He doesn't want to think of that just yet.]

Mmm... His Rapidash is with the others, so he's probably yours. I think Yagyuu got the Quagsire.

[The Machamp is now patting Marui on the head with one of his hands, and Ace has calmed down by now, just looking depressed.]

Dunno who his other Pokemon went to...

[His eyes are more on Ace than Marui now though, taking in how it is affected by the loss of Akaya. It's weird to see, but he knows that cats and other pets would do the same anyway.]

If anyone did.

[He's still learning how that all works really, but he's picking it all up quick enough - it just doesn't make it any less uncomfortable.]

[Marui shrugs.]

If someone did, they'd probably speak up. Most people usually do, when they get someone's Pokemon.

[Gonna brush that Girafarig now.]

[He wouldn't really know about that, which is precisely why he doesn't necessarily reply to that. Just hums under his breath and watches to see if the Pokemon will snap again.

That is at least something that makes some sense and is something that can be predicted still.]

[nope, no more biting. Cougar is standing guard and is helping with barn chores, so all is good and it doesn't seem like Marui is gonna get any more bite marks soon.

Sorry, does this bore you, Niou? :| Marui can feel you staring, you know.]

... So what exactly are you doing here, if you aren't here to help?

[Sssh, it was a little more entertaining when Marui was having a battle with the Pokemon, yes, distracting too.

So he just shrugs.]

[Marui still has his back toward you, but you can tell he's frowning. He is kind of easy to see through, most of the time. But there's a question he hesitates to ask because they all don't need to get upset all over again. And besides, mentioning Akaya again might start Ace's second (or third?) biting spree]

[Of course he's completely transparent, especially when it's Niou reading him. He can sense the hesitation as well, which is why he sighs this time and actually replies.]
